Independence Day 2026

Celebrating 79 Years of Freedom at Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE)

The Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE) celebrated the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with great national spirit, enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Institute’s green lawn, where Dr. Muhammad Zaigham Qadeer, Director General, PIE, hoisted the national flag, followed by the national anthem. The ceremony continued with the planting of a sapling as a symbol of growth, hope and a prosperous future for Pakistan, followed by the cutting of the Independence Day cake.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Muhammad Zaigham Qadeer highlighted the importance and true value of freedom. He said that the value of independence can best be understood by nations that continue to struggle for their right to self-determination. He particularly referred to the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, who have continued their struggle for freedom.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices of our forefathers, who offered their lives for the creation of Pakistan, and appreciated the unwavering spirit of the Pakistani nation and the Armed Forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and independence.

Dr. Muhammad Zaigham Qadeer also highlighted the resilience, unity and spirit of the Pakistani nation during the recent Marka-e-Haq, stating that Pakistan’s resolve and success received international recognition and further strengthened the country’s prestige among the comity of nations.

Pakistan Zindabad!

May Pakistan continue to prosper, progress and rise among the nations of the world.
